Contour-Cut LED Lightbox Signs for Distinctive Brand Visibility

Custom Shape Cabinet Signs, also known as Contour Cut Lightbox Signs, are illuminated cabinet-style signage systems fabricated in fully customized shapes rather than standard square or rectangular formats. Designed to follow brand-specific outlines and logo contours, these signs provide enhanced visual distinction and strong storefront presence.

Built with an aluminum cabinet body and a translucent illuminated face, custom shape cabinet signs combine durability, serviceability, and high-visibility LED performance for indoor and outdoor commercial applications.

What Is a Contour-Cut Cabinet Sign?

A contour-cut cabinet sign functions like a traditional lightbox but is fabricated in a custom silhouette. Instead of a standard box shape, the cabinet and face are engineered to match:

  • Brand logos

  • Unique graphic outlines

  • Custom typography shapes

  • Irregular architectural forms

With a minimum cabinet depth of 2.5 inches, the housing provides sufficient internal space for LED modules and wiring components.

The translucent acrylic face panel is precision cut to the required shape, and internal LED modules project uniform illumination forward for high daytime and nighttime visibility.

Key Features

  • Fully custom shapes (contour cut design)

  • Minimum cabinet depth: 2.5 inches

  • Single-sided face illumination

  • Serviceable trim cap construction

Construction & Serviceability

Custom cabinet signs are engineered for durability and maintenance accessibility.

  • Cabinet Body: Fabricated aluminum for corrosion resistance

  • Face Panel: Custom-cut translucent acrylic

  • Frame: Trim cap (serviceable construction)

  • Lighting System: Internal LED modules for even illumination

The trim cap frame secures the face panel while allowing future access to internal electrical components, ensuring long-term serviceability.

Mounting Method

Custom shape cabinet signs are installed using a flush mount configuration, securing the cabinet directly against the building façade.

Electrical wiring passes through the wall behind the cabinet, requiring rear wall access for connection to the UL Certified power supply.

Flush mounting provides a clean, integrated architectural appearance.

Common Applications

Custom contour cabinet signs are commonly used for:

  • Logo-shaped storefront signage

  • Franchise branding systems

  • Restaurants and fast-food chains

  • Retail storefronts

  • Entertainment venues

  • Shopping plazas

  • Corporate buildings

  • Branded monument signage

They are ideal when a brand requires greater visual distinction than traditional rectangular lightbox signage.
