Halo-Lit (Back-Lit) Fabricated Letters, also known as reverse channel letters, are premium architectural signage solutions widely used across commercial properties in the United States. Unlike face-lit letters, halo-lit letters emit light from the back of the letter, projecting illumination onto the mounting surface to create a soft glowing halo effect. Each order includes a full-scale installation template showing mounting hole and wiring locations.
Mechanical Installation (Flush or Stud Mount)
- Clean and prepare wall surface
- Align installation template using a level
- Mark drilling and wire pass-through points
- Drill holes for mounting studs and wiring access
- Remove template
- Insert anchors if required
- Attach threaded studs to back of letters (for stud mount)
- Position letters onto wall
Flush mount places letters closer to the wall.
Stud mount creates additional spacing and enhances halo projection.
Electrical Wiring Installation
- Pull wiring leads through rear wall access holes
- Identify positive (+) and negative (–) wires from each letter
- Connect all negative wires together
- Connect all positive wires together
- Connect grouped negative wires to power supply negative terminal
- Connect grouped positive wires to power supply positive terminal
- Secure wiring connections properly
- Install UL Certified power supply in accessible location
- Test illumination (including RGB function if applicable)
- Finalize mounting and alignment
Correct polarity (positive to positive, negative to negative) is essential for safe LED operation.
Professional licensed installation is strongly recommended to ensure compliance with US building and electrical codes.
